Gary O’Sullivan, Operations Director of Construction (Ireland) and his experienced management team are set to complete our 12th major logistical project in the last 30 months, confirming mac-group as one of Ireland and the UK’s leading logistical hub experts.
This sector is growing in importance with interest from both national and international investors as manufacturing, retail and online businesses look to secure a more reliant and efficient supply chain for their products.
Horizon Unit D8 at Horizon Logistics Park in Swords, Co. Dublin is the latest undertaking by Gary and his team in Ireland. This project is for our repeat client Henderson Park, building upon the successful delivery of Unit D9 in January 2020.
This project will target LEED Gold certification and will benefit from enhanced sustainability credentials. mac-group have engaged with CAB Group and Byrne Looby Consulting Engineers for the lime/cement stabilisation of the entire site area, optimising the site won material to improve the CBR results, thereby minimising export of material offsite and consequently reducing the excessive import of quarried stone to the site. The recycling value of using lime/cement stabilisation will generate a net savings of 22,400 tonnes of imported quarried stone fill. This is the equivalent of 1,122 truck loads, furthering mac-group’s 2020 plans for a sustainable future.
