The project was a JCT 2005 Design and Build of a full fitted out logistics warehouse with 9000 sq. ft. office and welfare area over two floors.
The building comprised of steel frame double portal frame founded on pad foundations. The site areas involved a full ground solution offered by mac-group for lime & cement stabilisation achieving a CBR of 15%. The earthworks and ground improvement works were circa 23000m3 of material being reengineered to achieve building and external works plateau areas from site won materials from onsite borrow pits.
External landscaping involved a site area of circa 8 acres for the provision of new public open space and walkways including the provision of green gym equipment. The project also involved the construction of 2 bridges over the River Camac. One bridge was a piled abutment bridge with precast bridge beams. The second bridge was formed using a precast concrete culvert structure and required a river diversion for the realignment of the river. Inland Fisheries were also engaged with for the planning of the bridge works and also the relocation of fish from the diverted river to the new aligned river.
The Building was fully fitted out with High Bay Racking providing space for 32000 pallets and a full Roof Mounted Sprinkler installation and associated water tanks and pump house. A Foul Pumping Station was also installed as part of the works

The completed project achieved BREEAM Very Good certification and EPC A.

Unit B was awarded a Gold Considerate Constructors Scheme 2020 National Site Award.
