Mountpark Logistics

Located at the original Baldonnell Business Park which was developed by SIAC in the late 1990s, the 35-acre site is home to Mountpark Baldonnell. It is the largest speculative logistics development currently under construction in Ireland. The total area of landscape is circa 13 acres.

The building is a structural steel double portal frame design founded on reinforced pad foundations on lime and cement stabilised ground.

Phase 1 of the project involved the Design and Build of Unit A and preparation of the building plateau levels for Phase 2.

Phase 1:

  • The construction of single-storey warehouse distribution unit (Unit A)
  • 10,837 sq m (116,648 sq ft) gross internal area
  • The site infrastructure/preparation works for futures phases.
  • Unit A consists of 111,341 sq ft of industrial space
  • An office block of 5,307 sq ft with a clear internal height of 12.5m.
  • The unit includes 10nr dock levellers
  • 4nr level access doors
  • External works included general hard-standing, car-parking, landscaping, mains services and drainage.

The facility will provide a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating and EPC A.

Unit A was awarded a Gold Considerate Constructors Scheme 2019 National Site Award and was a finalist in the Irish Construction Excellence Awards 2019.

After the success of Phase 1 mac were awarded the fit out of Unit A by the new client moving into the building.

Phase 2:

  • Unit B 10,967 sq m (118,048 sq ft)
  • Unit C 10,967 sq m (118,048 sq ft) gross internal area
  • Or potentially, a combined unit of up to 22,300 sq m (240,000 sq ft)

Gary and his team in Baldonnell have shown a commitment from the outset of the project to deliver a top-quality product for their Client. They have had an engaged and positive approach to the design and delivery of the scheme; overcoming some significant challenges, from the archaeological finds from almost day 1, to working adjacent a live airport as well as the river Camac.
