The typical mac client is one who digs deep, searches for innovative solutions, inspires good growth, economic prosperity, stronger communities, and healthier people. For clients creating a higher performing culture, a sustainably built environment goes hand in hand with talent attraction and retention objectives alongside productivity goals. The mac-group taps into these drivers by adding value in our service offering. Setting the bar high in terms of sustainability is part of this value add. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is the internationally recognised benchmark for sustainable building, while the U.S.Green Building Council (USGBC) is the ultimate arbiter. The mac-group’s membership into the USGBC is the seal of approval that clients seek when pursuing their sustainability goals.
Founded in 1993, the USGBC’s mission is to promote sustainability in the building and construction industry. The USGBC is best known for creating the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system, a green building certification program that recognises best-in-class building strategies and practices. While founded and based in the United States, LEED stands out as the premier rank of achievement in sustainable building worldwide.
Since 2010, mac has delivered 11 LEED projects for our clients, constituting 22% of all of Ireland’s LEED projects. Of the 11 projects delivered, 3 have been awarded Platinum, the highest certification level for LEED. This has resulted in mac delivering 20% of all LEED Platinum projects in Ireland.

Since 2015, mac has paid for over 14 employees to become LEED certified, with our Managing Director of Interiors, Brendan Moley, being the first LEED GA at mac. Included in that figure is Katsiaryna Mazur, the first person in all of Ireland to be awarded with the LEED AP certification, the highest level of individual certification granted by the USGBC. At mac, we are honoured to have her as our Environmental Manager to lead mac and Ireland into the future of sustainable development. If Katsiaryna’s achievement wasn’t enough, mac employees constitute 14% of Ireland’s LEED professionals, one of the highest of any company in Ireland. With the individual performances of mac’s employees being a source of pride on its own, mac’s own progress in the sustainably built environment is a direct result of our clients’ desires to build a legacy.
