mac are delighted to have achieved Considerate Constructors Scheme certification for our River House project!
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements to consider appearance, respect to the community, protection of the environment, safety and value in our workforce. Solid relationships are a cornerstone of the mac philosophy. The scheme provides us with the focus to develop our relationships with all of these stakeholders.
And what better way to achieve good things than working together?
Situated at the heart of Belfast city centre, our site team were lucky to work with such a strong spirited community to be able to make a positive impact. The team put a monumental effort into finding ways that would do more than just tick the boxes, they wanted to something meaningful.
One initiative was particularly successful in bringing together the local community, project partners, the client, the site workers and our own international offices. This was the Climb for Caudwell – a race to the top of the River House building itself to raise funds for children with disabilities. Volunteers from Caudwell Children, Castleforge Partners and mac stewarded the event over the weekend where teams came together from sports clubs, businesses, neighbouring buildings, friends and families of those involved and supporters of the charity.
As well as this event, the project team took on a number of initiatives both on site and in the local community including:
Contracts Manager on the Belfast project Ronan Mc Grath said:
‘The entire River House project team inclusive of mac staff, our subcontractors and suppliers, the design team and our client Castleforge Partners have all contributed to the initiatives’ that we have been implementing under the Considerate Constructors Scheme and this has helped to ensure that the project has had positive impact on the local community. We look forward to participating in the other events that we have planned between now and August”
