Project Challenges

There was a huge emphasis on quality given the prestigious nature of the client and the market they serve. The programme was extremely ambitious and demanded meticulous project and quality management with frank and open communications.  mac-group are BIM Level 2 Certified and managed all aspects of the BEP for construction, commissioning and handover.

Architectural Scope

Designed by renowned Dutch Architects Powerhouse Company, the space revisited the glamour of the jet-age with sinuous curves and luxurious finishes, a mid-century modern inspired space was thoroughly contemporary and highly flexible. The 65,000 sq. ft. office interior included an abundance of social spaces, an elegantly inviting lobby with a restaurant, a large board room and a fitness area as well as the four office floors and an executive floor at the top of the building.

The designers connected all these functions with a variety of spaces designed to further encourage formal and informal interaction between colleagues, external advisors and clients. A stunning spiral staircase ties all the floors together and is the main connecting element in the office – literally and metaphorically – the elliptical staircase that ties five diverse floors together and features a streamlined double-curved soffit finished in wengé veneer.

A sculptural focal point, the staircase sets the tone for the entire office by creating a luxurious and elegant spatial experience. Lighting enhances the curving lines and adds warmth and movement, as it does throughout the building. Throughout, the design features flowing lines that allude to aerodynamic aircraft and encourage movement.
