€22m in 2013. €131m in 2016, €140m projected for 2017.
Growth is a sign of confidence – your confidence in mac’s capabilities.
In 2014 Lone Star contracted mac to carry out a complete HVAC and electrical services overhaul in 75 St. Stephen’s Green – a €14m project over 120k sq ft. Oracle Block B at €13m was the game-changer in 2015. Hibernia Reit selected mac in 2016 for 144,250 sq ft, AerCap for 70,000 and many more clients chose mac to carry out unique and exciting projects. The large number and scale of these projects demanded a larger workforce, a deeper skill-set and a broader range of experience. 40 talented members joined TEAMmac in 2016 to undertake these developments and enhance the service offering.
In 2017, your demand for our expertise has not lost any momentum. The team continues to grow and we are embracing structural and civil works as part of our capabilities. We are continuing to take on projects of large scale such as the 141,000 sq ft Irish Life refurbishment of 1 George’s Quay.
The business now has operations in Ireland, the UK and Northern Europe and plans to expand further with large landlord refurbishments and new builds in Ireland and Britain. Major investments in the Irish and UK markets sets mac apart as a confident and expanding enterprise amid the uncertainty of Brexit. This confidence is underpinned by steady growth, year on year.
Part of mac’s outward investment has included the appointment of four new directors and a dedicated management team to oversee its UK expansion. The four new directors are: Tiffany Quinn who has been appointed Communication Director; Ray O’Sullivan is the Director for the new Birmingham regional HQ; while Gary O’Sullivan and David Caulfield have both been appointed as Project Directors.
The appointment of four senior managers in the new Birmingham regional HQ, with 50 years of local market experience, will quickly establish mac as a major contractor within the UK market. This operation will service the UK Midlands, including the urban centres of Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester giving mac a major footprint in the UK.
Meanwhile, within Ireland, the company is set to deliver on a major development of much needed commercial office space in Dublin in the next two years. This comes after mac recently handed over new working spaces to major clients such as Jazz Pharma , Fidelity International Limited FIL, Irish Life and Oracle.
As a clear evolution of the service offering was taking place, it became clear that a brand evolution was also needed to convey the broadening scope of mac. The visuals have changed, the service offering has evolved, but the mission remains the same:
You, the clients, the consultant teams, and the building occupiers are the drivers of the evolution. We know you’ll continue to keep us on our toes.
