The mac DubHub

People use buzzwords: biophilia, wellness, collaboration and the like. Of course I knew what they meant – but now I REALLY do. I’m very proud of our new office space, and the part I had to play in conceiving of it and delivering it. Oh! And the fact that Alan O’Neill and myself are still mates!

When mac decided to move to a larger space, they wanted a location that was aligned with the idea of a thriving, sustainable Dublin, and so we located right beside the Balally Luas stop so that visitors and staff could get to us easily on public transport.  The new office is approximately 4,500 square feet and is located on the 4th floor of Rockfield South in Dundrum.  At this height the views of the Dublin mountains are spectacular, and the many windows allow daylight to flood the space.

The mac team that built the office jokingly refer to it as the most challenging job they have ever worked on, not because of its tight timeline, logistics,  the occupied building, or the noise restrictions, but because there were so many decision-makers involved in sign off!  The result however was a fantastic work space and great outdoor area that is a pleasure to work in for the mac-group staff. Alan O’Neill, the mac Project Manager on the job says ‘I’m very proud of the high standard of the quality achieved, which is a major achievement considering the frantic nature of the construction phase.  We had a great team who were always very committed in making this project a success.’
