Duties include:
- Carry out H&S Inductions
- Attend daily White Board Meeting (and deliver H&S briefing to attendees)
- RAMS review / compilation
- Arrange (and chair) regular Site Safety Meetings
- Ensure all H&S policy, procedure, rules & regulations are adhered to
- Take the lead on injury and incident reporting and investigation
- Carry out regular H&S inspections / audits of construction zones and prepare reports for distribution
- Manage and advise site teams accordingly in line with agreed safe systems of work and company Safety Management System
- Deliver Site Safety Briefings and Toolbox Talks
- Implement disciplinary measures when required
- Report to Group Health & Safety Manager on a regular basis
- Supervise and manage Health & Safety documentation to support the company’s Safety Management System
- Ability to represent the company in a professional manner at all times
What do we want?
- 3 – 5 years plus experience in construction related Health & Safety
- Sound knowledge of applicable Health & Safety legislation
- Previous experience in main contractor / PSCS role
- Experience in excel, word, power-point, multiple digital collaborative tools
- Ability to work as part of a strong existing H&S team
- Degree or other relevant Occupational Health & Safety qualification
- Experience of dealing with insurances and loss adjuster function
- Tender submission experience
- Experience in maintaining PPM system
- Leadership Skills: Take the lead on implementing company Safety Management System.
- Effective Communication Skills: To effectively communicate direction / instruction from Group H&S Manager and in line with expectations established in SMS.
- External Focus: Consistently review external trends / data / analysis to provide suitable bench marking criteria.
- Influencing: Provide a positive influence (and feedback) on a consistent basis.
