We are offering a challenging and varied role for a Design Manager to showcase their abilities.
We have a position open in both Ireland and the UK Midlands/North West.
Duties include:
- To fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project and to provide assistance and guidance to design coordinators where and when appropriate
- Provide design input into prequalification questionnaires and interviews and advise on design team selection and review their competencies
- Agree design team’s responsibilities and agree tender and construction programme with design team
- Hold and minute design team meetings and involve critical supply chain as necessary
- Advise on selection of specialist supply chain and consider alternative building methods, supply chains and materials
- Prepare contractor proposals
- Consider all aspects of achieving quality within construction
- Communicate and advise the tender team of the design process
- Check on the compliance of CDP/material quotations
- Prepare and manage drawing register
- Input into the Employers Requirement/Contractor Proposal Compatibility
- Promote ‘Best Practice’ in all aspects
- Attend relevant project related meetings

- Previous experience in a similar role with a general contractor
- Technical knowledge of construction build processes

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
