Horizon Logistics Park

Horizon Logistics Park, Harristown, St. Margaret’s, Swords, Dublin.

The construction of an industrial facility consisting of a 92,000 sq.ft. warehouse, with a 20,000 sq.ft. office, along with an external car park, service yard, ESB substation and associated services. The warehouse was built using a double steel portal frame with a 12m haunch height, this was then clad with Kingspan KS1000 wall and roof cladding with a large proportion of roof lights and AOV. The warehouse floor slab was poured to a FM1 tolerance (TR 34). The office consisted of a two storey RC frame outboard of the warehouse, with stone cladding, curtain walling and punch windows and a CAT B fit-out.

Project Works include:

  • External works included a 50,000 sq.ft. service yard, constructed in line with TR 66, a 150 space asphalt car park with disabled and e-charging bays, stand alone ESB substation, a grasscrete fire tender route, associated services and drainage, and landscaping.
  • Full mechanical fit out to the office space including Daikin VRF units and heat exchangers.
  • Full electrical fit out in the office space including Dali lighting control, fire alarm, disabled refuge, AOVs, containment for future tenant access control, IT & AV installations.
  • Electrical works in the warehouse included high bay lighting for the tenant racking, aspiration system, containment for future tenant access control, IT & AV installations
  • Kingspan Wall & Roof Cladding
  • FM1 Warehouse Floor
  • Dock Levellers and Doors
  • Limestone cladding to the Office
  • Curtain Walling
  • Lift
  • Switch glass to the Boardroom

Special Works include:

Site strip of topsoil and subsoil was subject to Archaeological supervision due to a ring fort adjacent to the site. Works were also carried out in close proximity to the runway at Dublin Airport, requiring co-operation with the DAA and IAA as well as the Aviation regulator, owing to the use of cranes on site.

mac carried out a lime cement soil stabilisation to the site as an alternative to the specified excavate and fill methodology proposed by the Engineer. This significantly reduced the amount of muck/soil excavated and transported off site and imported granular fill. This resulted in programme benefits, environmental benefits and significantly reduced truck movement in a busy live industrial park.
