A new build residential scheme based in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter for Hatchbury Developments.
The new build 4-storey residential development incorporates a mixture of 43 one bed and two bed apartments, 5 townhouses with 27 car parking spaces to the rear.
The development will be constructed using a steel frame building to the podium with a lightweight steel frame above. There will be 2-storey duplex apartments to front elevation with 1st floor external terrace gardens to the rear.
External façade features include detailed bespoke brickwork and feature precast banding elements along with crittall style windows to all apartments with patent sloping glazing to the third floor. Internally there are a number of bespoke interior design elements.
The demolishing of the existing buildings and regrading the levels on this sloping site form part of the contract. The apartments are for private sale and will be complete Quarter 3 2022.
The site was occupied for more than 40 years by Munn’s Brothers Photographic Processing Works, which developed films for companies such as Boots, and the architects have taken inspiration from the site’s history to create a striking design both externally and internally. The design will celebrate the site’s photographic heritage and style, based on a pallet of paired back materials and calm, tonal colours with dark accents.
