Markland – Prague

Project Overview

Built in 1975, the innovative building was designed by architects Machonins and constructed by Swedish construction company Slab. The unique building consists of an iron and concrete skeleton divided into six large hexagonal units. The extraordinary architecture through the department store is one of the reasons why Kotva remains a popular destination of shoppers not just from the Czech Republics capital city, Prague, but country wide.

Works involved the complete strip out of the existing interior to facilitate the subsequent refit of the space to include installation of new air conditioning units, a new suspended ceiling, new heating system set up and complete redecoration including new light finishes, floor tiles carpets, joinery installation and co-ordination of all trader migrations.

-mac also completed retail fit outs direct for Porsche Design, Bibelot SRO, Caravaggio SRO, Schlecker SRO.
