Today, Sandro Binelli, President of the MAC Group, presented the 2010 Mille Miglia in the Pietro da Cortona room of the Musei Capitolini at Campidoglio: among those present at the conference were the Deputy Mayor of Rome, Mauro Cutrufo, and the Prefect, Giuseppe Pecoraro. Sandro Binelli emphasised the great support of the car manufacturer joint presenting sponsors of the Mille Miglia, recalling the anniversary of which each is a protagonist: Alfa Romeo is to be 100 years-old, Mercedes-Benz celebrates 55 years of its speed record, BMW the 70th year of its 1940 victory and Jaguar its 75th birthday. Great attention has been paid to the Ferrari Tribute, with its 130 Ferraris coming from 25 different countries.
Sandro Binelli unveiled the names of the VIPs who will be at the 2010 Mille Miglia, such as the two Formula 1 drivers Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard, and the British musician Jason Kay. Among the protagonists of the Red Arrow will be numerous managers of the automotive sector, including the President of Mercedes-Benz Italia, Bram Schot; the number one of Aston Martin, David Richards; the global Managing Director of Jaguar Cars, Mike O'Driscoll and Victor Muller, manager and head of Spyker Cars. Celebrity competitors will include the Foreign Minister, Franco Frattini, and Minister for the Environment, Stefania Prestigiacomo. The patroness of the 2010 Mille Miglia is to be Anna Falchi.
