The Mille Miglia once again paid homage to Brescia with a gala event to introduce the 2012 staging of the famous Red Arrow. The Gran Gala evening came to a close after hosting VIPs and institutional guests for an exclusive, exciting evening of music and entertainment, together with Massimo Ranieri who presented his biggest successes to audiences in the theatre hall of the Teatro Grande. Sandro Binelli, President of MAC Group and Secretary-General of the Mille Miglia's Organization Committee, welcomed the important institutional figures attending the Gala: the Mayor of Brescia Adriano Paroli, together with the President of the Automobile Club of Italy, Enrico Gelpi, and Aldo Bonomi, President of the Automobile Club Brescia. "For the year in which we're staging the thirtieth historical re-enactment of the Mille Miglia, the international jury panel will give special weight to models that competed in the Red Arrow endurance race, in order to create an even more evocative parade," explained Sandro Binelli, President of MAC Group and Secretary-General of the Mille Miglia's Organization Committee. "We have always engaged ourselves in renewing and highlighting the Historical Re-enactment's ties to the Red Arrow's traditional stops, and with us, Brescia's Teatro Grande has returned to form an integral part of our project, hosting not only the final award ceremony, but also the Mille Miglia's introductory event organized by ATI. It's thrilling to think that this same building was used by race organizers as early as 1928."
